Overhead Garage Door Company – Our Story

In 1980, Owner Rob Jones worked in the cabinet building industry for six years and then worked three years at finish carpentry. Rob and Lisa started their own garage door company in 1989. Their primary focus was on building the business and providing quality garage doors and openers. In 1999, Rob was sent by Wayne Dalton (a major garage door manufacturer) to go to Toronto, Canada to compete in an international competition for quick installs. This competition focused on speed, accuracy and product knowledge to separate the best installers and Rob performed well in this competition. By 2000, Rob and Lisa hired their first installer and office assistant and has grown to 13 employees today.

Rob and Lisa have built Best Overhead Door, LLC to its current level by focusing on three areas: Quality, Choice, and Value. The business has grown because of the commitment to customer satisfaction through an aggressive quality assurance program and augmented by a custom designed Scheduling Management Program built specifically to the needs of the company. These programs assure that overhead doors are there on the correct day and in the look clients want.

Part of this model has been to train the installers to the level of expectation that Rob has developed over the last 28 years. This is a feature of Best Overhead Door that brings standards to the highest level.

Rob has developed a method to build Custom Wood Garage Doors and make them affordable for every homeowner. Using the highest quality wood products, and Rob’s years of experience in cabinetry and finish carpentry, Best Overhead Door can build a custom door for you at 30% to 60% less than a factory manufactured wood door giving customers a custom look that sets their house apart from all the rest. Best Overhead Door also has a finishing booth where we can stain or paint your garage door to your specifications. Best Overhead Door has a full line of Steel Garage Doors and Openers.

Here at Best Overhead Door we feel being involved with associations and giving back to the community are important. That is Rob has been the Vice President of the NW Door and Operator Association, a member of the International Door Association and was the secretary of the Amy Roloff Charity Foundation.
